Ohenewa Akuffo Bio
The Olympic wrestler lived in Toronto for the first three years of her life. Her family then moved to Accra Ghana (West Africa) where she got in touch with her roots for the next five years. There she was able to learn the native language in Ghana. Her family returned to Canada when she was 8 and lived in Mississauga. Shortly after, they settled in Brampton. She is coming off knee surgery, but she says she's committed to being at her best when she competes in Beijing on Aug. 17. Her best result at the world championships is a fifth in 2006. She's a two-time Pan Am Games silver medalist.
