Sherraine Schalm Bio

Sherraine Schalm won Canada's first fencing medal in a major fencing tournament - bronze at the 2005 World Championships in Germany. At the same event, Schalm led a four-woman épée team to sixth place, its highest finish ever. In 2006, Schalm became the first Canadian to win the overall title on the World Cup Circuit. Beijing will be Schalm's third Olympic. In Athens in 2004, she led the women’s épée team to a fourth-place finish; in the individual event, she finished 18th. Four years earlier in Sydney, Schalm finished ninth with the women's foil team; she placed 19th overall in individual épée.
