Beijing will be the fifth consecutive time the 43-year-old race walker represents Canada at an Olympic Games, having previously competed in Barcelona (1992), Atlanta (1996), Sydney (2000) and Athens (2004). He placed 10th in Atlanta. Berrett has also represented Canada at nine IAAF world championships. He is a part-time professor at the University of Alberta.
