Gordon Cook Bio
Helmsman Cook will compete in the 49ers event in Beijing with teammate Ben Remocker. Cook has been racing competitively for 18 years. He studied engineering at Queen's University. He runs his own kiteboard manufacturing company, Mobius Boards.
•Has two top-20 finishes at the World Championships (13th in 2008, 19th in 2007)
•First-time Olympian and is the first-ever 49er class entry for Canada
•Has been sailing with Ben Remocker since 2003 and their 19th place finish at the 2007 World Championships was the crew’s first trip inside the top 20, and also qualified the boat for the 2008 Olympic Games
•At the 2008 World Championships, they finished 13th, their best regatta ever
•Has trained in Portland Harbour, site of the 2012 Olympic sailing competition
•His first international competition was the 1991 Optimist World Championships
