Whitby resident Priscilla Lopes-Schliep is going for gold in the 100-metre hurdles in Beijing. Her parents say the fierce competitor has a chance to medal. (Aug. 18, 2008)
WHITBY -- Her determination shows when the starter's gun goes off. But Priscilla Lopes-Schliep is considered one of the most friendly people on the track once the race has been held. John David Burnes will be competing in archery.
Karen Cockburn is ranked second in the world in trampoline and is one of the medal hopes in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Cockburn will compete on Saturday August 16 at 11 a.m. and was interviewed prior to heading to Beijing.
